sprachklanggesetzt

This work is based on paragraph 7 of the Austrian State Treaty from 1955 which deals specifically with the minority rights of the Slovene and Croat minorities (§7). It consists of translations of this text into Croatian, German and Slovenian, as well as audio recordings from demonstrations against the then current Austrian government conducted in February 2000, and statements of 26 persons who were living in Vienna at that time, speaking in their respective mother tongues (Arabic, Armenian, Bulgarian, Burgenland Croatian, Mandarin, German, Finnish, French, Hebrew, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Cantonese, Korean, Croatian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish, Czech, Turkish, Hungarian and Vietnamese).

Awarded at the composition contest 'klanggesetz' of the Initiative Minderheiten, an Austrian platform for minorities in autumn 2000.

A CD containing contributions to the composition contest including sprachklanggesetzt, was published on the Austrian record label Extraplatte in November 2000.
